Grèce 1974

In 1974 Greece made its debut entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. Marinella, who was already famous in Greece, sang « Krasi, Thalassa Kai T’ Agori Mou » (in Greek « λίγο κρασί, λίγο θάλασσα και το αγόρι μου », meaning « a little wine, a little sea and my boyfriend »). The song was presented fifth out of the seventeen entries of the night and followed Norway’s Anne-Karine Strøm with « The First Day of Love » while preceding Israel’s Poogy with « Natati La Khayay ». At the close of voting, the performance had received seven points, placing it eleventh in the field of 17.
